Effective for the 2024 season, the rule for minimum defensive player on a team's roster will be: >7 Defensive Lineman with a minimum of 3 defensive tackles (DT) and a minimum of 3 defensive ends (DE) >6 Linebackers with a minimum of 3 outside linebackers (OLB) and a minimum of 2 inside linebackers (ILB). The team can have only one inside linebacker if he has a durability rating of 10+ or 10 (10- does not satisfy this exemption) >7 Defensive Backs with a minimum of 3 Cornerbacks (CB) and 3 Safeties (S) unless the team has 2 safeties who both have durability ratings of 10+ or 10 (10- does not satisfy this exemption)
Players rated as DL count as DE or DT. Players rated as LB count as OLB or ILB, players rated as DB count as CB or S.
