This trade will put Penn State over the in-season salary cap of $88.0 million. Therefore the trade is void.

Penn State's current salary total is $83.85 million.
Adding Kerrigan at $5.75 mil puts Penn St. at $89.6mil
Herzlich's salary does not come off Penn St.'s salary total unless he is signed by a different team.
