http://www.aaroncraneinstitute.com/football/e107_plugins/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?14925
2024-03-29T06:38:45-04:00Current Rule:8.3.b -Teams are limited to obtaining a maximum of two waiver claim free agents during this (pre-season) period.Proposed Rule:8.3.b -Teams are limited to obtaining a maximum of four (instead of two) waiver claim free agents during this period beginning with the 2023 season.Justification:NFL players get hurt in Summer Training Camp, sometimes with season ending injuries. With seemingly more and more severe injuries in the NFL, this would allow more flexibility for a team to replace those players for the following season.Re: Proposed Rule Change: Pre-Season Free Agent Signing Period

Correct, the salaries of any player cut continues to count against the team's salary cap unless another team signs that player.Re: Proposed Rule Change: Pre-Season Free Agent Signing Period

The only change is up to four players instead of two. It is done like, and in the same order as the draft. Every team gets one player only per round.
